Post Surgical Rehabilitation

To help you heal safely and correctly

We will work closely with your surgeon on the rehab protocol and design a targeted treatment plan to meet your needs. Rehab duration varies, depending on the surgeon’s recommendations, your goals, medical history and how your body reacts and heals from surgery. Our treatment plan involves choosing the correct types of exercises in the right amount and intensity for you as well as using appropriate electrotherapy modalities to help you with your healing and in managing your pain. We will monitor your progress closely, and adapt the rehab to the different stages of your healing accordingly. Some surgeons may recommend pre-surgery rehab, which we also provide.

Why Rehab is Crucial after Surgery

The goal for post-surgery rehab is to help you safely return to your pre-surgery level of physical activity and functioning. We help you to achieve this by:

  • managing swelling and pain shortly after surgery

  • improving circulation, stimulating affected tissues to heal better

  • minimizing scar tissue formation

  • regaining mobility and flexibility, promoting strength to improve overall physical stability

  • promoting healing and improving recovery time
