A Collaborative Relationship

We are with you every step of the way.

Key to how we treat, is strong, clear and transparent communications. We are aware that whilst in pain, you may feel vulnerable, uncertain, and you cannot wait to recover fully.

Very important to your recovery is knowing what to expect and strict adherence to your treatment plan. We are here to carry it out together with you. Treatment compliance is based on education, mutual trust and understanding. You will not be left alone to work on your recovery, and you should not be. It is a highly collaborative therapeutic relationship.

You will be thoroughly assessed to identify the areas for us to treat and work on, and we will look into the causes of your pain or injury. Based on these, and a discussion of your expectations and lifestyle needs, we will then outline and implement a comprehensive and specialized treatment plan to help you recover as safely and quickly as possible.

Your treatment plan will include a single or multiple combination of the treatment components described in the section below as part of our holistic approach.

Manual Therapy

A hands-on approach.

According to The International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT), Manual Therapy techniques are: "Skilled hand movements intended to produce any or all of the following effects: improve tissue extensibility; increase range of motion of the joint complex; mobilize or manipulate soft tissues and joints; induce relaxation; change muscle function; modulate pain; and reduce soft tissue swelling, inflammation or movement restriction."

We are trained and skilled to employ the following Manual Therapy techniques to help you:

Spinal Manipulation/Mobilization, Joint Manipulation/Mobilization, Lymph Drainage, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular mobilisation, Scar Mobilization, Soft & Deep Tissue Mobilization, Strain/Counter-Strain, Trigger Point Therapy and more.

Non-Invasive Treatment Modality

A non-surgical option.

For some cases, your condition can be managed and treated more conservatively without undergoing surgery first or at all.

Our clinic has the following suite of medical equipment from highly established medical suppliers from Canada and Japan:

Exercise Therapy

To support healing and manage pain.

We are not inclined to move when we are in pain. We worry that more movements and activities will worsen our pain. Research has shown, however, that exercises, when correctly prescribed, helps in pain management and aids in recovery. It increases your strength, fitness, agility and coordination.

Part of our treatment plan involves giving you Exercising Homework to do in-between our appointments.

This Homework will consist of a set of targeted exercises that we will highly encourage you to follow-up on. As an example, after a knee replacement surgery, if our Homework is not followed through, it will greatly limit the range of motion and strength you can restore for your knee.

We will advise you on the frequency and intensity of the exercises. When adhered well, these Homework will help you to recover faster and better. They involve a repertoire of load bearing, loading exercises, movement control, strengthening and cardiovascular exercises.

Clinical Pilates

The core of correct movement and stability.

We get you moving through Pilates because Pilates provide faster results and moving properly helps you sustain your lifestyle.

You will learn of the concept of Pilates concept of breathing, whole body health and whole body commitment. We do that through exercises as its the best way to illustrate the concept and we move the body in its entirety to achieve good health.

We want you to experience stretch, strength and control in every single exercise.

Education

Empowerment & prevention through communication & knowledge.

We believe in empowering our patients with knowledge and understanding. When you get the How and What of your condition, as well as the Why of physiotherapy, you will be more motivated to adhere to your treatment plan.

We will also teach and guide your caregiver on how to take care of you during your period of convalescence, how to help you with your exercises, and what to look out.

Our education encompasses the root cause of your condition, self-care on injuries or surgical sites, choice of treatments, purpose of exercises, as well as dietary and lifestyle adjustments.

We will continually discuss your concerns and questions about your injury and progress, to establish realistic and achievable outcome, and to help you have a stronger grasp and understanding of your rehabilitation.
